There are a lot of questions that pop out in my head when I hear the words lip and lip care. Do we need to take care of it? Is lip care necessary? Does lip care make your lip better or worse? Well, I am here to lift the 8 common lip and lip care myths. Scroll down below!
MYTH 1: LIP DOES NOT NEED LIP CARE.
This myth is easy to disapprove of because there are a lot of dermatologists that suggest that lips should be included in our skincare routine! Aside from that, our lip cannot produce sweat, which means it does not moisturize themselves. Lip care will push away dryness and make your lips soft, pinkish, and moisturized.
MYTH 2: THE SUN DOESN’T AFFECT LIPS
This is not true! Your lips will burn in the sun because our lips do not contain high melanin! Once it is exposed to sunlight, UV rays may affect it. That is why we recommend you to use lip products such as Mishka Cosmetics Lip Tints because they contain SPF which will protect your lips from the dangers of the sun.
MYTH 3: LIP CARE PRODUCTS HAVE NO EXPIRATION
Like any other product, lip care has an expiration date. Did you know that lip balms, when unopened, can be stored for around two and a half years? But, it is advisable that when opened, you should use it for a year for better effectiveness for your lips.
MYTH 4: LIP CARE CAUSES COLD SORES
This is such a fake! This does depend on what type of skin you have and how sensitive it may be. Although not everyone has the same skin structure, some lip care products or certain ingredients that it has may be intolerable to some that cause their lips to swell and have cuckold sores. If this occurs, immediately consult your doctor, and for further awareness, always look at the ingredients!
MYTH 5: LIPSTICKS ARE LIP CARE
Although lipsticks contain vitamins, they don't have enough caring ingredients to take care of your lips. The lack of antioxidants may not be enough for your lips to be hydrated. Some lipstick doesn't have any SPF as well. Might as well look at the ingredients!
Lip care is very important and should be included in your everyday skincare routine. Your lips are also a way to tell if you’re aging, sis. If you want to look fresh and younger, you should take good care of it!
